Badgers team up with Falcons

L&BBFC > News > Badgers team up with the Falcons

In order to continue to provide the most supportive environment in which to play Football, right though all our Junior age groups and now into adult ranks, the Badgers are delighted to be able to confirm an innovative partnership with Express Falcons FC. This partnership has the clear aim to encourage players over the age of 18 to continue their involvement in football once they pass out of youth age groups within our club.

The Falcons, who were founded in 2000, currently play in Worcester & District League Division One on Sunday mornings, playing their home games at Lower Howsell Road. The club has actively encouraged local youngsters to join their ranks over the past couple of years, and this arrangement will provide a firmer pathway.

“This is a great opportunity for players who come through our age groups to experience adult Sunday League football at a club that shares our outlook and ethos and have recently achieved Charter Standard status”, commented Leigh & Bransford’s Chairman Simon Secretan. “The two clubs will continue to stand alone, but with a shared working partnership solely focused on keeping players that come through our club playing football when they reach 16 and over” he added.

The Falcons see the partnership as a huge benefit going forward.

“We are delighted to be partnering with The Badgers, who are a progressive, inclusive club with fantastic core values and we’ll be delighted to welcome their young players into our club. We’ve a history of helping former youth players to feel comfortable in adult football. This partnership will open up all sorts of avenues for us as a club, including the potential for shared training facilities, coach and player progression, whilst also supporting each others events. It will be of great benefit to share knowledge and experience between us, whilst both retaining our independence to concentrate on what we do best. With the Badgers its youth football, with the Falcons its adult Sunday League” commented Falcons Chairman Jon Hale

  • At the foundation they are keen to work alongside Grassroots clubs and have stressed that, they have no desire, to take players away from the Badgers, as a grassroots club, in fact the opposite as they are looking to arrange friendlies with our teams in the future.
  • LBBFC already have many age group players, both boys and girls, who are enjoying mid-week training sessions with the Foundation, as well as their many holiday football camps in Malvern and Worcester.
  • To enhance our links with the WBA Foundation LBBFC as provided an u12 side to support their last Tournament in Bromsgrove.
