Badgers Biggest day

L&BBFC > News > Badgers Biggest Day

Saturday 23rd June, under clear skies. and held at Malvern Rugby Club, saw a day when the odd shaped ball club hosted the round ball badgers for arguably the biggest day in the club’s history. Certainly, a day when we saw the most Badgers, in one place at the same time. With boys and girls drawn from 18 different teams, over 180 active Badgers. 30 coaches and lots of friends showing just what our club is all about.

Certainly many positives, and great memories when you review the snaps of the day taken by Mike Henley. The aim was simple, and achieved, to create lasting memories, and positive experiences for our young Boys and Girls. The positive atmosphere was certainly enhanced by the way all the coaches, parents and children approached. A the day kicked off with a whole club presentation event, with individual season honours being share out:

  • Portcullis Adult unsung Heroes Samantha Williams and Nicky Waller for the amazing work in the Snack Shack;
  • Bessie Junior Unsung Hero to Hayden James for his work with the U8 Torpedo squad;
  • Mercian Fortis and Badgers Fair Play award went to the U10 Forest line up;
  • Clubs Junior Volunteer of the year was picked up by Joe Dallow for his support and coaching of the U14 Palace squad

Once individual end of season trophies had been handed out by clubs oldest active members present, the U16, all took part in a fun and friendly tournament aimed at participation for all, aligned with the Badger’s Ethos. The day was for all, but would not have been possible without the support of a few:

  • Malvern RFC for the venue and great staff;
  • Fleet Line Markers for the support to mark 11 pitches;
  • Morgan Motor Company for the parking;
  • Portcullis Health for the medical cover;
  • Inflatable Goals from Phoenix Sporting Goods;
  • Photographs by Mike Henley and Club Legends;
  • Startin Honda
  • Food from the BBQ by Waller & Sons Butchers washed down with ice creams from Bennett’s Foods;
  • Entertainment from WBA Foundation and ScallyWags Inflatables and the PA by Robin Shuard
  • Our amazing parents that steeped up to man Team stalls ❤❤
